Seeking mir Advisory Board Members

Navalmartin will launch mir, an app that conducts full vessel condition assessments, at the beginning of 2023.

We are excited to announce at the beginning of 2023, we will launch our next chapter – mir (short for marine inspection by remote), an app that conducts full vessel condition assessments, providing users with expert risk appraisal and maintenance advice remotely.

In 2020, we took some time to evaluate certain areas of our work to gain a fresh perspective. Narrowing in on the inefficiencies of traditional marine surveying augmented by the Covid-19 pandemic, we started to investigate how surveying could be modernised through technology. We learned quickly there was room for improvement. Conversations with clients and colleagues confirmed our motivation and we set out to create mir.

In a relatively short amount of time we have gained some fanastic support. In 2020, Daria Cabai, Navalmartin CEO, won Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation Award, and this year we won the Innovate UK Smart Grant. We have also added three new team members: Alex Giavaras, machine learning engineer, Yannis Efthymiou, full-stack engineer, and Melissa Wusaty, business innovation and marketing.

To support this next chapter and help mir reach its full potential, we are creating an advisory board. We are eager to speak to individuals who have unique expertise and appetite to be a part of something pioneering. Experience within the marine industry is not necessary but experience launching new businesses, products and/or within data, technology and web3 is an asset. We are asking interested individuals to commit for one year, with opportunities to extend, providing 1-2 hours per quarter.
